AVCA-Elk-LD-1-9-2012 Road Crossing CH #s
The captions are used to label the photos for project monitoring purposes. The numbers are tied to specific drainage sites, however, the letter at the end is used only for photo labeling purposes. You may have to hover over the photo or click on the photo to see the full label - thumbnails might only reflect the first half of the label, which will all be identical. When downloading the photos, the file names should reflect the same labeling. This project is designed to address rapidly escalating erosion problems on the boundary between the Elkhorn and Las Delicias Ranches. These photos detail the eroding drainages at the start of the project. A fence line access road cuts across about 25 drainages, many of which are entrenched with head cuts traveling upstream. The site was chosen as an ideal demonstration project location due to the interesting combination of healthy and excessively eroded channels, easy public access, and willing landowners and partners.
