General view of the route - abt 300km - 9 days
Day 1 Akyaka to Longoz 28km
After all night drive from Istanbul we arrived to Akyaka to rent my kayak
We drove like 15 min more to the start point in 37° 2'31.07"N 28°19'44.38"E
We entered the land of legened with the fisherman and the golden fish
The first pause at noon was in Kleoptra island with an helenistic castle
Landing in Longoz. Fresh water available from a well at the Landing spot 36°55'54.17"N 28° 5'30.54"E. Look for the broken wood boat.
Day 2 Longoz Golyeri 32km
This was our first night camp in Longoz
It looks like a lake but it is a fjord style bay
The old boat is by the well, and the camp ground.
At the mornning Ali bey who operate a restaurant in the bay, invited us for tea
His English wife Elinor joined too
I wanted to see their house. Very green, no electricity even
Some of his family members are living on the boats as marine Numades
We left at the mornning for the second day
At the evening we approached Golyeri bay, and landed in 36°48'28.69"N 27°53'50.61"E
Land for 2nd night in the right small bay near buoy placed on the shore
Day 3 4 From Golyeri to Kormen Liman and then to Knidos 30km + 34km
Most of the trip was like a modern art museum of sculptures
For the 3rd night we choosed a camp site in Kormen Liman.
It is the port for ferries from datca to Bodrum
There are cabines and showers (hot water only on season). Shop in the main road of the village 2km away, open till late at night. Today it is a holyday evening (Kurban bayram)
This rock looks like a mytological monsture form the Odesea
Knidos - An archeological site , was it the ship of Odiseoss

In knidos the guard of the archeological site, didnt let us camp. We moved to hide on the other side of the bay
4TH night in Knidos. restaurant open all year. Dont sleep nearby, but in the Eastern shore of the bay
5th day from Knidos to Gnuk Koyu small bay 36km
Location of landing for the 5th night
It took us long time to find a proper landing. search carefully mainly at valley approach to sea
Day 6 from Gonuk koyu bay to Korucabuk Aktur 30km
Rock gargen near Datca
The back wind made it possible to use the sails
Day 7 From Korucabuk Aktur to Bozburun 28km
The pension in Aktur, has a restaurant opened all year round. There are many shops in Korucabuk Aktur center 2km away at the other end of the beach
Landing at noon in Agil Koyu yachtonairs restaurant. Open only in Season
In Agil Koyu 36°41'1.44"N 27°58'41.25"E there is a restaurant open only in the season.
But you will always invited for "on the house" tea
and...a cigarete

7th night. Location of Mete hotel. 60ytl half pension. There are several other pensions nearby with easy landing docks
Day 8 Bozborun to Serce Liman 33km
I felt like getting back to the creation scene.
A trip back in time
Location of 8th night landing in Captain Nemo restaurant- Serce liman. Restaurant open only in Season

Day 9 Serce Liman - marmaris. 45km. No landing till Giftlic-25km
From Serce liman to Marmaris prepare for only one available landing half way between
It means 2 legs of 20-25 km each without landing
You can land only in the bay of Giftlik 36 43N 28 14 E
Dont miss the enterance to Marmaris bay. Look for the light house
If you missed it, here is from the other side while paddling west
We were lucky. The only rain (in end Nov) catched us on the last day, 3km from Marmaris our end point
Back in the ferry to istanbul
Sevket at home show Saba (his wife) where he disappeared for the last 10 days.
Back in Istanbul, I realized from which destiny kayaking saves me :-)
