Novomi's house, not a widow, but as a 20 year old Orphan with younger siblings to look after, she had very few prospects in her future. Her ever-present beaming smile sustained us in the heat. We collected enough for a small dowry amongst ourselves, and a local volunteer we worked with helped to find a suitable partner who would move in with her and her siblings rather than the usual opposite. He sent us her wedding photos just the other day.
