This home, purchased and rehabbed by the DuPage Habitat for Humanity, was purchased by a single mother who was formerly homeless.
The woman, with mentoring through the Bridge Communities program, is now a homeowner through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. This is her daughter in their brand new kitchen.
This Glendale Heights home was purchased and rehabbed by DuPage County. As they were working on this home, the house next door also went into foreclosure. The house next door had graffiti on its garage, and administrator Carrol Roark said the County feared it would hurt the selling chances for the home they had purchased.
Though the bank refused to sell the second house to the County, after seeing the work being done with NSP funds on the other home, the bank rehabbed and sold the second home.
