Trekking from LuGu Lake to YaDing 12-26Oct07
Regarded by many locals as one of the most beautiful treks in China, this trek starts from LuGu lake at YunNan near the border of SiChuan. You will pass through charming villages of diverse minority ethnic groups and come into contact with their unique ways of life. LuGu Lake itself is home to the MoSuo people, a supposedly matriarchal tribe known for their culture of ‘walking marriages’. Along the way you will encounter magnificent valleys, primary forests, highland pastures and snow-capped mountains, not forgetting the rich cultures of the many minority groups in that area, particularly, MoSuo, Yi, NaXi and Zang.
The trek ends in the heart of YaDing reserve, where you can see the 3 sacred mountains & high altitude lakes.
