Sunny D Bin It 2 Win It Kick-Off
In honor of America Recycles Day, Sunny Delight Beverages Co. (SDBC) and Keep Cincinnati Beautiful (KCB) celebrated the start of their new recycling challenge “Bin It 2 Win It” by delivering the first single stream recycling dumpster to Chase Elementary. The dumpster, supplied by Rumpke, will be used to collect recyclable materials generated by the school and nearby community. Students rallied support by chanting the tagline for the contest, “Don’t throw it away. Make today a Sunny day.” Vice Mayor Qualls alongside Billy Cyr, CEO of SDBC, and Ellen Iobst, Chief Sustainability Officer, gave encouraging remarks during the kick-off. Since then, a seventh school has signed up for the challenge. The seven participating schools are Covedale Elementary, Mt. Healthy High School, Roger Bacon High School, St. Francis de Sales, Hughes High School, Chase Elementary, and Cheviot Elementary.
