This is the Tigers-East/Alpines-East Car show in Kinzers, PA on Saturday May 8th, 2010
We took Ernie's 1967 Sunbeam alpine to the event - here it is in the show line.
Some other Sunbeams - mostly Tigers - in the back row with us.
This was a Tiger with a V6 Ford installed - nice car.
This is Greg's Alpine - from Hockessin, DE - and It's an Alpine and his DAILY driver - great car! We did NOT know there was another alpine within 20 miles of us!
Another beautiful Tiger in the Front row. The event was the Kinzers Rough and Toumble Steam show here is their link: http://www.roughandtumble.org/
Engine just made it in this car the day before. This was the shake-down run to the show - they made it! Nice engine work too!
Here is a better view of the fresh engine in this tiger.
Tiger Tom's Sunbeam Tiger - one of the best also.
YES - this is a Sunbeam Talbot - 1953 and ORIGINAL. They drove it from NEW YORK - yes - drive it in.
Another shot of the talbot. Our card is the4th one back in this line.
You just don't see many of these on the today - maybe no then either!?
The ORIGINAL interior of the Talbot.
What a hi-tech dash in the Talbot - lol.
The front view of a running Talbot. You can see our RED RIDER in the back with Trailer - that's how we got our Alpine to the show.
People enjoying a fine Alpine - ernie's joy.
A view of the front tow Sunbeams - one of the steam barns is in the background. We had a lot of visitors from the Steam show look around the Sunbeams - very nice setting and everyone enjoyed themselves.
Looking down our back row - our Alpine in the foreground at a large barn also filled with steam tractors and everything else too!
We learned that maryland had ORANGE type plates at one time - as shown here on a 1966 Tiger from gaithersburg, MD that drove up to the show.
Interior of the same Tiger.
Engine in the same Tiger.
Another view of the Maryland Tiger
Interior from the drivers side.
Looking at all the cars in the back row. At one time I counted 23 Sunbeams present.
The main tent for rain cover, wind cover, food and coffee. The winds were 30-45mph at time and with the Steam Engines - oh the dust!
The Talbot in the foreground and our hauler in the back. Note we are in the populated part of the county - lol.
When was the last time you saw an Sunbeam IMP? How about TWO driving into the event - never is OK - my first time for real also.
Another view of the PA IMP's - YES - they BOTH drove to the event! Wonder why you don't see more - ha!
This was another Alpine at the show from PA.
Clean interior on this one too - we were looking for the AM radio speaker - still looking.
It was a neat and clean white car. Radio aerial was in a funny location.
Another view of the Alpine - Also, Tiger Tom cleaning up for us all.
This is OUR Alpine - attracted LOTS of attention.
Another Tiger arrived at the end of the back row.
Another Tiger in the back row.
Since we have a MARYLAND car and should have a front license plate we were interested in what the front license plate bracket looked like - here it is.
Another Maryland car - this is a Tiger also - note the dual exhaust - a dead give-away.
Nice Tiger interior.
The V8 in a Tiger.
A couple of late arrivers at the very end of the back row.
We kind of liked the GT stripe on this one. Great metal flake blue paint.
Another view of this Tiger.
An attraction on our car was the DUAL Lord Rootes Throphy Winner awards - don't see ANY like this anymore.
Documentation - Edward and I at the end of the day with the car.
You will enjoy this read - remember Chesapeake City proper has a population of about 300 - lol.
With the wind - we tried to keep up with the dust and steam dust as the steam train passed us by about every 20 minutes also.
Edward working his way abount the back of the car also. We had all the original documentation in the dashboard and trunk for all to see and share and Original Alpine - one of the best there is out there.
Another view without E3 in the picture.
Penny did show up to support us also and (of course) had to take a picture of our attendance - she had fun also - a nice day - with wind - was had by all - Ernie would have enjoyed it - his Sunbeam cap is still sitting in the dash where he left it.
