Members of the MSU Parks and Recreation Club and students from PRR 214 Intro to Travel and Tourism, removed and treated Oriental Bittersweet an invasive vine at Hawk Island Park. They were so hard working that they didn't want to stop so we picked up trash at the end of the workday!

CACIL at Lake Lansing North

A group from the Capital Area Center for Independent Living came out to help cap off a very successful season of garlic mustard pulling. They were at Hawk Island two weeks prior, and will continue to volunteer in the parks throughout the summer.

May 2 Lake Lansing North

Hundreds of mature Garlic Mustard plants were pulled from the northern area of Lake Lansing North. Several GM plants were making their way towards the popular Blue trail, where seeds would spread with ease. We pushed the dense Garlic Mustard front leaving the northern spoils area back several hundred feet.

RDC Volunteer Day

Forty-three kids from the Refugee Development Center came out during their Spring Break, helping to spread mulch in order to make the playground a safer area for all children.
