U! Happy Events together with Litter of Light put together this fun activity for local children whose families were beneficiaries of the Litter of Light initiative. The meat was delightfully soft, the baby potatoes absorbed the flavors well and I was surprised how much the cheese worked with the whole dish! We were surprised to find that there was some sort of a Narnia exhibit where the ice skating rink at MBS typically is. And what was funnier was how the exhibit didn't actually have walls enclosing the area, thus it didn't really make sense why your typical visitor would bother to pay for entrance. 12.31.11 Hasbro Masterpiece Rodimus Prime

Finally found a price point for this figure that I was willing to work with. For a moment I was weighing between the Takara version and the Hasbro version, but I figured that I like Hot Rod as a figure more than Rodimus, so I got this one. Plus it has a Targetmaster! Transformation is a lot more difficult than expected, but it is a masterpiece figure after all. Everything came out beautifully though and I'm really happy with this toy. 12.30.11 Hunt for the Decepticons Banzaitron

I don't typically go for repaints, but I'm a big fan of the ROTF Bludgeon mold and it was nice to see this character revived. 12.30.11 Generations Skullgrin

While this is a repaint of Generations Darkmount (Straxus), I have to admit I liked the paint scheme more than the original. 12.29.11 Dark of the Moon Shockwave

I've always wanted a Shockwave figure given my respect for what the character represented in the G1 era, especially in terms of the comics. But I never found the G1 toy for myself. While I'm generally against the Michael Bay versions of Transformers, initail images of the Shockwave toy got me sort of excited since he looked pretty good. But then the movie came out and I hated how he was depicted, so I ended up waiting for this toy to go on sale before picking it up. Cool glowing eye gimmick. 12.29.11 Universe Decepticon Piranacon

I admit that I only bought this figure since it was so heavily discounted that I felt bad for it. This has always been my least favorite gestalt, mainly because of its horrendous color scheme and awkward transformations. This version is decent enough construction-wise, complete with the weird stands to display the various limbs when put into "weapon mode". Pictures taken with a Panasonic Lumix ZS7. I was feeling a bit under the weather and figured some pasta would make for an easy enough meal to prepare. 12.27.11 Reveal the Shield Fallback (Outback)

This figure is believed to be the reincarnation of the G1 figure Outback, at least in fan circles. He's a funny figure that utilizes the sort of "shell" Transformer philosophy where all his robot bits are hidden behind exterior panels that just fold away. 12.27.11 Reveal the Shield Special Ops Jazz

I'm not a big fan of Jazz (Meister) figures - they seem to have maintained the exact same transformation pattern over the years which features the same flaws. This time around he had funny feet and his chest panel still doesn't lock in place - thus you have to hold it down when you move his arms or the whole thing start flapping around. The main benefit of this version is that addition of fold-out speakers at his windows, you can recreate iconic moments from the original US cartoon.
