The people who make the Offender Watch sex offender registry program, which is used by a ton of police departments, comes shipped with a default presentation that has the lie "50% of sex offenders re-offend!"
Everyone should read the link above, and contact all those counties in their state, and ask them to show the facts and not lies.

That may be a little out dated, but you can visit the following site, click on your state, then go through each county. On each counties web site, there is a CONTACT button, you can use that to send them the facts.
