Thursday evening we went to see "Wicked" at a theatre that we could see from our hotel window. The Apollo Victoria is right across the street from one side of Victoria Station (which takes up an entire block). Our hotel was across the street from the station along a different side.
Ready to go in!
The foyer lighting was all green! We had great seats, in the stalls, row r, just right of center.
The curtain was this lit map of Oz, and a huge dragon above it! We like the show alot, even thought it was quite different from the book.
Our last morning in London we walked out once more time! Here's a daytime shot of the theatre.
We walked up Buckinham Palace Road (we were only about a 10 minute walk from the palace). This theatre is aboaut 5 minutes from our hotel, and across the street was this clock - on the inscription it said "with apologies to Big Ben"!
Love the ballerina at the top of the Victoria Palace Theatre!
Across from the theatre there was a ritzy hotel with these amazing ivy garlands
The Queen really knows how to collect mail! Behind the mailbox, another pub.
We took the tube each day from Victoria Station - it is huge, and undergoing a project to have a huge new skylight roof over the train station area.
This was our hotel in London, very nice and very convenient to everything. We left here around noon on Friday, and from Paddington Station we took the Heathrow Express train to the airport. We flew from London back to Copenhagen, stayed overnight at the airport Hilton and Saturday around noon our flight left for home. We had a fantastic experience during our 3 1/2 weeks across the pond, and we'll be thinking about our trip for a long time to come!!!
