Chateau Sazerac was built in 1891 and remains filled with period details, such as fabric walls, tin wainscotting, original gas-electric chandeliers, working fireplaces, etc. We have continued the tradition with period furniture and decorations, while adding a New Orleans theme (masks, beads, memorabilia, etc.)
the front of the double-parlor; the stained glass is original.
the double-parlor has seating for 17+ people, and it's divided so two groups can meet at once. The beads hanging from the chandeliers are not only part of the New Orleans decor, they're functional: people are taller now than in 1891, and the beads keep people from hitting their heads on the lights!

the large kitchen-- around the corner (not shown) is a second full-sized refrigerator, and the cabinetry to the right holds a pallet worth of storage (really!). In the distance, you can see the breakfast nook which connects to the deck and backyard.

Period details are mixed with restoration, such as this new chandelier and new stained glass.
one room post-restoration (replaced modern chandelier with period original; new ceiling medallion; new bed)
another period detail (gas-electric hybrid chandelier).

lighting detail - originally, this would have been gas-electric hybrid, with the larger glass fitters being gas, and the smaller ones electric. This is a reproduction where they're all electric of course.
3rd floor lounge, which dubs as an office and occasional guest bedroom.
clawfoot "soaking" tub, installed in a room that's used as a bedroom. From the tub, you can see Sutro tower
4th (top) floor, with newly refinished wood floors and soft sheepskin rugs ("counting sheep"). On the left are two bedrooms, ahead is a bedroom, and to the right is a large closet.
