Amanda Rychel's Ladies Raleigh with Rod-Drum Brakes
A cool vintage 1972 Raleigh Ladies bike with rim rod brakes. She build new aluminum wheels (which would have improved the rod brakes) but also got the parts for operating drums with rods. We had to do some customization! Note the rear rod extension piece and the bent front rod U-arm. We also had to run the front hub backwards, which is ok with Dynohubs because they alternators! Also the front brake arm clip had to be custom bent to accept the arm at an angle. Typical bike shop stuff, right? Well, at our shop it is!
