About to arrive in Santiago de Chile.

This looks a lot like Europe, but it's Santiago de Chile.

On the road to the mountains.
Table grapes behind Casa San Regis.
Evening in San Esteban, with powder on the horizon.
While we enjoy the last sunshine, powder is being delivered higher up on the hill. Actually it was dumping all night up there. :-)
Fresh snow at Arpa.
Base station at Arpa - arriving here means that we survived the road.
Getting onto the snowcat - the only lift in this resort.
Aconcagua - the highest mountain outside Asia. We didn't ski this one, but it was always visible from the top of the slope at Arpa.
As long as you don't look West, there's just mountains around here.
The snowcat is leaving us at the top of the mountain.
Aconcagua.
I feel like an astronaut up here.
Peter coming down the hill; also, check out the reflections in Travis' goggles.
There were no lines on this hill when we started.
It's Cal's turn.
Cat track.
Goggle reflections.
Dave.
Peter, finishing off the traverse.
Next one, please! (Is this Dave?)
Oops!
Cal taking the traverse.
We're about to tear this up, aren't we?
Cal waiting for his run.
I'm having too much fun today.
Last run of the day - isn't it great when you can look back up the mountain and it tells you every turn you took (and, uhm, every face plant, too)?
Casa San Regis has a long and interesting history which is best told by the fireplace.
Another day at Arpa - our tracks are gone!
Casa San Regis.
While you can find all sorts of cars and trucks in Chile, traveling with horses isn't uncommon in the countryside.
The road to Portillo is lined with trucks coming from and going to Argentina.
Just a few more switchbacks and we'll arrive at Portillo.
Cal, Travis, and Peter after our first crazy Portillo-style Poma ride.
They have pretty nice rocks in Portillo, too.
