then we were off to visit aunt charmaine in indiana
her daughter kelly & the new dog, whose name i've forgotten
charmaine, who's not always crazy about kids, just loved roxanne!

but we made it to bernice & everett's in northbend OH
roxanne fell happily onto the couch to watch some TV
but bernice had to get some hugs!

next day, a visit to my favorite place in cincinnatti, where bonnie's friend nancy is a resident caretaker
a gorgeous old house, she gets to live on the top floor
she gets help, but does a lot of the gardening
& helps to furnish the house
roxanne reunited with nancy's granddaughter brooklyn, whom she met 2 years ago
the girls had a picnic

we noticed a HUGE wasp nest tucked under an eave
nancy was on her way to a monthly potluck with all her many brothers & sisters
so we all went for a walk in the woods
i hope these girls know each other all thru their lives

best stop was in elpaso, where we had over an hour at lunch time, so we could leave the bus station & find some real food
this performance center was nearby, & i guessed it is the place where a high school friend of mine sings with the elpaso opera
roxanne was able to get some sleep, i had a harder time
i was housemanaging dell'arte's 5-week mad river festival, which started the day after we got here, no time to recover from 3-day bus ride!

on 4th of july, roxanne had cornrows done
there was a street fair, it was a beautiful day, so V worked outside on the sidewalk, & attracted an audience
we had a ride on the antique firetruck
at dark, we drove to eureka to see fireworks over the bay
after the big show, people set off lots of more earthbound fireworks

the ducklings grew up while i was gone

some nites at the festival, if there weren't enuf volunteers signed up, roxanne got to wear a badge & help out
& of course was in the middle of any aftershow party

the mckinleyville community choir, that i usually sing with, opened the daylong free fest; i've been gone for weeks & was now working the festival, so of course i didn't get to sing with them this time
