2009 MMD 50K
This is the annual More and More Difficult 50 kilometer trail race, held in the White Mountains, NH. The distance has been measured (on map) as 34.5 miles with somewhere around 15,000 feet of elevation gain. This year the course was basically, Start at Dolly Copp, run up the Imp Trail from Rte 16 up to the Carter Ridge. Run the ridge over Mount Hight, Carter Dome and WIldcat, running down the ski slope back to Rte 16. We then go up Tuckerman's to Huntington's to the Mount Washington Summit, then running the Gulfside and all the summit loops over Clay, Jefferson, Adams and Madison, then back down to camp. Jeff List, the winner ran it in just over 13 hours, the last finiahers finshed in 24.5 hours. This alone shows the difficulty of the MMD 50K.
