30th Anniversary of Day of Remembrance in the Bay Area

Observing the 30th Anniversary of Day of Remembrance in the Bay Area. Remembering that 67 years ago today, the path of our community was drastically altered by the signing of Executive Order 9066 by President FDR. For the Japanese American community, February 19th, 1942 would be the day that lived on in infamy, as 120,000 Japanese Americans were eventually rounded up and relocated away from the west coast.

Nakayoshi hit the ice at Yerba Buena's Ice Skating Rink. Some skated circles around each other while others desperately clung to the walls. Either way, we all had a lot of fun!

Trick or Vote - Volunteer Event

Nakayoshi teamed up with Asian Communities for Reproductive Justice (ACRJ) for their Trick Or Vote event, where high school students went door knocking in Oakland to encourage registered voters to vote.
