RAGBRAI 2009
RAGBRAI 2009 was 442 miles, and Carl's 7th complete RAGBRAI. This year, we had a team of 5 people and a driver. Scott Inukai, Katie Inukai, Kristen Vandenberg, Ben Anderson and Chad Aubrey as the driver. We were known as Team Perc because Ben owns a dry cleaner store and sponsored our jerseys with his logo, and Perc is the chemical he uses in dry cleaning. This was Scott's second year, and Katie, Kristen and Ben's first year. We drove Scott's blazer. Ben was supposed to join us from the beginning, but he realized a week before the ride that it started a day later than he thought, so he didn't ride day 1 and just met us in that town. He rode a couple days, but then was plagued by a bum knee, and had to drop out of the ride. Chad was an excellent support driver, finding great campsites with shade, and setting up tents for everyone. This year's route was from Council Bluffs to Red Oak to Greenfield to Indianola to Chariton to Ottumwa to Mount Pleasant to Burlington. Scott and I
