Each morning of the AFX a parade was held, for both roll call & to practise drill and garrison procedure

Unit members after conducting 5km BFA run near Gan Gan Army camp. Note: Capt REID/W02 PARIS/W02 FINN where ARA cadre staff (5 total for the unit)

Cpl BURSILL attached from 4/3 RNSWR to conduct weapons lessons during the AFX. (previously he had been trained as a medical assistant by the unit), here resting up before conducting a 'strip & assemble' weapons lesson on the GPMG M60. Lessons where carried out round robin style during this AFX.

During the 2 week AFX medical scenarios where conducted as part of core training for the medics.

Note: PT was run by RSM W01 Kim DEAN who was a PTI (trained through the artillery stream) and vietnam veteran who was the first RSM for the re-raised 5 Field Ambulance and was ultimately responsible for shaking this unit back up from a general hospital to a more mobile field ambulance. Many of the field ambulance SOP's & daily routinesI remember to this day due to his efficiency.

Johno was an ex-grunt from 4/3 RNSWR like some of the other section members.
