From the program announcement...."This is a reminder that the Capital District Alliance for Universal Healthcare is sponsoring a forum on “The Future of Our Healthcare: Medicare for All versus a Private Insurance Based System” which will be held on Sunday afternoon, September 25, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:30 pm. at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Albany, 405 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY.
The keynote speaker will be David Ansell, MD, MPH. Dr. Ansell is currently the Chief Medical Officer at Rush University Medical Center. A native of Binghamton, NY, he graduated from medical school at Syracuse and then went to Chicago to train at Cook County Hospital. What he saw there reinforced his social ideals framed by the 60’s and made him an advocate for change. He recently wrote about his experiences at Cook
