11th Annual Community of Friends Luncheon
The 11th Annual Community of Friends Luncheon benefiting the Cancer Support Community-Benjamin Center’s free of charge services for cancer patients and their families was held at Skirball Cultural Center on Wednesday, November 6. NBC4’s Emmy-award winning journalist Dr. Bruce Hensel was the Master of Ceremonies for the sold out event of 300 people; and New York Times #1 Best Seller spiritual author and lecturer, Marianne Williamson was the keynote speaker. Singer/songwriter Karen Hart entertained. This year, CSC honored its longtime psychotherapists, some of whom have been part of CSC for over thirty years, facilitating thousands of support groups since 1982 for cancer patients and their families: Zena Bartholomew, MFT; Lola Fisher, MFT; Ruth Salk, MFT; Malcolm Schultz, JD, MFT; Lynne Silbert, MFT; and Karen Wurtzel, LCSW. Thank you to everyone who came out to support CSC!
