Ushuaia
Photos taken in Ushuaia, our first land stop after leaving Chile. This is most Southernly town/city on the planet. One can see the South Pole out of your back door { :-)) per Sarah Palin}. Some images are from a catamaran tour down the Magellanic Channel to see some wildlife. Unfortunately, no penguins or whales.

Blizzard in Baltimore
The heaviest snowfall in more than 50 years. It has been snowing since mid-day yesterday and probably will continue until late tonight. so far we have had more than 25 inches of snow, with more to come. It is being called the Blizzard of the century. We are at home and we have electricity so we are warm. We took a brief trip outside and Alara enjoyed herself a lot. Still cold though, about 26 degrees Fahrenheit. Here are a few shots that we took a short while ago. Joan, who is noticeably absent from these, was inside as she had a little cold and cough.

Yellowstone National Park
We spent a week at the PSA Annual Conference in West Yellowstone in the last week in September. This allowed us to go in to the park for photography on several days, usually starting before sunrise or staying to get the golden light at the end of the day. These represent a small selection from the many shots that I took. More to come later after I have had a chance to sort and post-process some more. Comments welcome.

Windstorm at Westspring
While we were away for the weekend a violent storm passed through this area. It apparently lasted only about 20 minutes and dumped 2 inches of rain in the area. It was also accompanied by winds up to 70 - 80 mph. Here are some of the images showing the damage to our trees. Fortunately, no damage was done to the house.

Obama's Inaugural Train trip stopped in Baltimore this afternoon. weather was rather cold (23degrees F) but there was a huge crowd to greet him. I went down and waited for about two hours, but could not get close enough for good pictures. Will be going to DC on Tuesday to witness the Inauguration and hope for better luck.
