India Trip - Agra & Delhi Sights
Our five hour drive from Noida - a suburb of Delhi, to Agra, historic city and site of the Taj Majal and Agra Fort. The road was packed with all kinds of vehicles, vendors, people and other “creatures,” through the construction site of the soon-to-be Yamuna Expressway, connecting Delhi with Agra. In Agra, we visited the Taj Mahal - built in the 17th c. by Moghul Emporer Shah Jihan as a mausoleum for his deceased wife, and Agra Fort - the castle and residence for several of the Moghul emporers of that time. Then we headed back along the same route to Delhi, where we stopped to see the Baha'i Temple and the Presidential Palace. Then it's off to Kolkata.
