7.) Cusco City Tour, Cathedral, Sun Temple, Street Parade
Day 5 ( 11.6.2009)
Today we fly to Cusco, the Capital of the Inca Empire, at 10,900 feet. After lunch, Boris takes us on a walking-tour of the city: the Plaza de Armes, the 17th century Cathedral, build on the foundation of an Inca palace, and lastly, we visit the Qoricancha Sun Temple, Cusco’s most important ceremonial structure. On our way to the hotel, we encounter a colorful street parade of students of a Cusco University.
Day 6 (11.7. 2009)
First, a visit to the Cusco market, I take lot’s of photos, then we drive into the hills, to visit the massive Sacsayhuaman archeological Inca site (over-looking Cusco), we attend an Andean medicin man’s “Curandero” healing ritual, followed by a visit to an alpaca store, for more shopping, just before a late lunch, we stop briefly at a jewelry workshop
