The flower pattern is taken from Needlecraft. The crochet braid used is an outline is used in Romanian Point Lace. I also used a needle lace stitch for the background instead of a crochet filling normally used in Irish crochet

Flower Ball - 2005.
This is a vintage Irish crochet motif given to me by a local lacemaker. It is 2" tall and worked in a thread that is finer than #100.
This is the first authentic Irish crochet project I made (2002). All the motifs were crocheted, basted onto a design and then the background was filled. The edging was added last.
Bad scan...grrrr. First butterfly crochet along project made at the Irish Crochet Lovers yahoo group. I think this was worked in #40 thread - 2004.
This is the 2nd butterfly made in the crochet along in 2004.

Pattern from: Victorian Lace Crochet - The Vanessa-Ann Collection, pg. 88. I left the bobbles out and added the center motif from Eithne D'Arcy's Book: Irish Crochet Lace, pg. 34. I think this is worked in #40 thread. I made it in 2002.
This is a sprig of Mary Ann's daisy flower a leaf I designed. Those raised stitches on the leaf are meant to be lady bugs. They are clusters with the back of the cluster facing. It looks like a head and body (2003?)
Thistle from Pricisilla's Irish Crochet Techniques - 2005. I used this motif in the collar. I think it is worked in a #60 threads, if not #80.
Another project from the 'Irish Crochet Lovers' yahoo group crochet along. I'm so glad I have a digital camera now. This aster was completely squashed in the scanner! This was made in 2004. I wear it as a pin.
