Movie-Mite 16mm Sound Projector, Shawnee KS - Kansas City Mo
This album is for my uncle William (Bill) Wilson, inventor of the MovieMite 16 mm Sound Movie Projector ! Early work was in late 30's, production was in full swing when WW2 started. During WW2, they made some kind of military "cannon" plugs. After the war, projector production was again started, and development was underway for new products. There was two main models in the late 40's and early 50's. Some other items were under development including, portable equipment like turntables, PA systems, 8mm sound projectors , tape recorders. Production was halted around 1954, Television drove the nail in the coffin, no body need projectors any more.. Plus Bill Wilson had died several years earlier. I am John Wilson, Bill was my uncle, I can just remember him. I wasn't very old when he died. most of these pictures were from ebay auctions. MovieMite is alive and well on the collectors market
