An example of how you could use external data (e.g. from Salesforce) to feed an Openbravo Workspace Widget
Pull data from Salesforce and display the sales pipeline in an Openbravo Workspace Widget
Little bubbles on a map indicating where the business partners are based
Using Foursquare you could track where the boss hangs out
Discuss a document with a colleague. Especially in case of exceptions, human communication is inevitable.
Team communication could be done through an RSS feed. This widget would be super simple to build.
Something for the admin guys (or business partner managing his customers): Some usage statistics. Hang on, why is everybody logging in at 18.00h? :-)
Also for the admins: Some real-time system usage KPIs. The bottom box would continuously scroll and perhaps "bad queries" could light up...
More goodies for the admins: You want to know how many log-ons are rejected, meaning that the max number of concurrent users is reached and it is time to add some to the Openbravo Professional or Basic Edition Subscription.
A simple to-do list for the end user
System alerts can be displayed in a widget. Documents and business partners are linked. On click they open on a new tab. Clicking the "X" would clear the alert.
KPIs for the end user: How well did our products sell in the last 3 months and one year ago?
Clicking one of these links would open a grid with all filters pre selected. In a view, the user can choose to save a view.
Keeping a close eye on one specific customer
Some more KPIs for the end user
Training through a widget. Note the Show Me and Let Me Do It links that would open views on new tabs.
Using the Google Gadgets APIs you can easily pull in almost any Google Gadget inside Openbravo

On a lighter note :-)
Users can track their productivity. Don´t let the boss know about this one! :-)
Recent reports point to the saved records that were exported. Create New opens a new report window on a new tab.
For different tasks user need different tab sets. For example for Accounts Receivable you would need have Financial Account, Payment In, Sales Invoice and Business Partner open. Using this widget you can open all these tabs at once.
A global search would be a bit more complex but definitely brings a lot of value for the end user.
