You know whose steed that is? The only enfield doing the rounds. Yes friends none other than Nitin Jadhav
That is Vivek Sharma cleaning up his ZMA's chains ... that is the kind of care which ensures that the bike stays with you thru thick and thin
That is the man himself - Nitin Jadhav - competition # 111. This is Nitin doing some final carb adjustments
that is Aditya - talking to his girlfriend I guess ... and updating her on the day's progress
Aellois Christian Competition #119
Aha ! no additional marks for guessing this one. None other than PrashathO+ :) ... well that is what his bike said! Prashant did a lot for the raid - to ensure that some sections were cleared before the raid ... and provide inputs to the officials from where ever he was doing reccee. A fantastic man ... on a great machine. He was flying on stage 1 CS1
You may have seen these two gentlemen whizzing past you in their Gypsy. Capt. Sameer H Pande (Sam) and Capt Mahendra Choudhary (Chow). This time they decided to be on the other side of the table and did an excellent work as scrutineers. No flaw could escape their watchful eyes and they did their bit to ensure that the raid was that much safer! Great work guys.
that's Vivek wondering what Damien has found on his bike! that is the last time raid winner Damien - who was doing the scrutineering this time.
That is (L-R) Aellois Christian, Chetan Ganapathy, Dinesh Thakur and Vivek Sharma strategizing! (or just having a chit chat)!
That's Anand ... the determined look on his face is a precursor to how he would ride on the raid
Your's truly - Kurien Philip
Dr. Dinesh Thakur
:) Nope that is not the real rider - this is Raju Verma having a good time posing on the Quad.
Amar Dev's bike! a Honda with the ZMA engine.
That's me meeting the man whom I respect the most in the rally circuit - Dilip Manjrekar!
Your's truly with Sir Dilip Manjrekar
Dilip Sir's KTM! Impressed with the well prepared Bike
Vivek, Nitin and Aditya waving from the top of the Hotel where they were having the drivers briefing
Sanjay Gondkar parking his steed at the venue of the drivers' briefing
This was the 10th Raid
The bikes parked
Vivek, Aellois, Kurien and Sourav (Sourav is a budding rider - and hope to see him in the next Raid. He does great in the SMC - the Shimla Motorcycle Challenge).
It is not just the man and his bike ... but the man and his moustache! That is Nitin posing for the camera! This snap was taken by Dinesh Thakur
Aellois, Vivek and Dr, Dinesh Thakur
Niting posing with his Bull
That is Anand's bike getting a last minute brake pad change!
Taking a break! that was a very tiring day
Dr, Dinesh Thakur and Sourav recceeing the route from the opposite side - just pray that a biker in a hurry does not descend on them :)
Had the privilege of riding on the bike to the end of CS1 on day 1. these are the three ZMA's - the first bike is Dr. Dinesh Thakur's, the one in the middle is Sourav's (yes the headlight is missing - that goes to tell you how serious a rider he is), and the yellow ZMA is mine - Kurien's
Ashish Moudgill - 101
102 - Sandeep Matharu in Action
103 - Chetan Ganapathy - Boy, was he fast - but his luck - every time I have met him - he ensures that he has a fall during the reccee!
104 - Klaudia - it was consistency more than speed here
106 - Yogesh Lakhani was fast!
that's Bhaskar Ramani who shook up things this time during the raid ... till he took a fall on the last (?) day
That's Prashant - 108
Nitin on his Bull - man was he fast! He and Prashant were the two guys who got an excellent line around this bend where we were standing and watching
that's more of Nitin
That's Dilip Manjrekar on his KTM. He was also fast.
109 Amardev on his Honda/ZMA
120 Karanbir Singh
Vivek Sharma - the winner in GRP D - 121
that's Vivek again - all the practice and the preparation that he put into the raid paid off well.
115 Rupinder Singh
Anand - 122
More of Anand - one of the few guys who got the line correctly on this bend.
No mistaking the Acerbis headlamps that Sanjay Gondkar had on his Honda
Aellois Christian - 119
Rajeev Wadhwa
113 - Vikram on his Honda Unicorn. The mono suspension sure would have given him a good handling edge!
117 - Sagar Sathe - the blue burner two stroke - He was doing good till he lost his time card and therefore could not continue. A good rider. Wish he comes back next year.
127 Ravindra Kumar
131 Aditya
123 Pankaj Trivedi
The quad put many a biker and gypsy to shame on the riding and the timing :) ...
More of the Quad with Rathore on board
135 - Rajan Sidhu
134 David
That is the last rider ... obviously ... the Gypsy chasing him is none other than Rana's ... It is scary to have a gypsy breathing down your back. Rana nearly honked him off the track! :)
