This is a jig I made to make sure the holes for the balusters were vertical and centered (see the last photo in this series.)
This is what it looked like on the day I finished it. The homeowners did the staining and clear coating.

The balusters have a square top on them which were fitted into a square grove and filled with a fillet.
The wrought iron balusters have a round bottom on them.
