This balcony was opposite my hotel
Ariels... Why? Dunno...
Orange Trees!
This is the Acropolis
The Lycheas (sp?) monument
Hadrian's Gate, you aren't allowed to walk through it...
Graffiti like this is EVERYWHERE, this is literally next to the acropolis
I loved it here...
Stood for 2 hours, no show... Lying bloody greeks. I mean we show stuff at the globe FFS.
A very old wall...
Like a castle but better!
This is a large rock
A bit of the antiquity
It's that wall again!
Little did I realise what these clouds would bring... I thought they looked cool.
Me, looking like a tool.
The first pillar photo, get used to it.
Warned you...
C'est impressive non?
Mr Parthanon, a glorious chap
A dog, on a wall... There are dogs all over, including the motorway.
What the dog was looking at
No show there either. Greek theater is a misleading term
Love it! Check out photo's from others, they are better.
The scaffolding doesn't actually matter. It's still just awesome.
Sun! (More to follow)
Them clouds again... Eating a mountain.
Plaka from above!
And again.
The big Zeus temple, better up close.
Kinda built up is Athens, bit like San Francisco
I failed to go there... Now I'll just have to go back. Oh well.
A crane next to Mr Parthanon
Mini Parthanon
With chicks!
Chicks + rubble, my hat blew off my head a mere 15 seconds after this. Actually it blew off twice, both times landing in a restricted area. My second retrival was frought with danger... Honestly officer I love that hat and so had no choice but to clamber on your extremely old rubble.
Pillars!!! WTF!
Even the little one rocks
Me + Grin = Idiot
Different view of Baby Parthanon (it has a real name, I forget though).
Detail on the big 'un
'Tis new methinks...
Here's the old stuff
Invading would have been a biatch
Dog asleep AT THE VERY PLACE THAT MODERN THOUGHT WAS INVENTED. He doesn't care. Prick.
Pillars now with stairs.
Lions maybe?
I know they are 2 different walls but why? I mean really.
Of = Toy
Or not... I managed to get about one greek word down. Elfharisto! Which means thank you.
I really liked this place, sorry.
Actually bored of tagging now.
Failed to go there to. FAIL!
Circular hole in stone is a bin it seems
From another hill
Trees you see?
That bit of the antiquity
I was mega chirpy about this in general.
If flat they build.
There now follows some pretty villas... If you don't like it don't watch! I will tell you when it's over.
What is in that garage?
This is not an exciting church but it is very old
See? That's fucking old, there are older things but they look more like rubble. This is fucking old and in good nick.
Zeus lived here
he moved out some time ago
runs a strip club on the edge of town I heard
bit of a fall from grace that.
Look carefully and you'll see the 2 New Zelanders I had a brief chat with
His old house was bigger but his new one has more ladies...
Over 100 pillars when fully built, now? 12. :(
King of the Gods to strip club owner, and Stringfellow is better at it. Imagine being beaten by Stringfellow. Ow...
Hadrain, world leader seeks woman to conquer with. GSOH.
A house! (Not belonging to Zeus)
Do dogs live here?
Cold pigeons, they were sat there all puffed up looking generally pissed off.
Parlament!
In England crap hats, in Greece crap shoes.
Deceptively pleasing
I saw a few priests, nearly burst into flames twice...
Unlike Mr Pathanon scaffolding ruins the effect utterly
Camden on Greece
It snowed, I thought it'd end there...
Compared to what came this was monkey piss
Still seemed good at the time
I dunno where this is....
Snow hat!
Snow man
Snow square, home of Starbucks with the friendly and chatty staff. Natascha was cool! Hey Natascha.
George, met him at the bus station, cool guy. Hey George!
On the bus to Delphi, about now (5 mins in) I started to question the wisdom of this mission.
At least we were moving quickly though...
Moving quickly did not last... Check out the snow on that roof!
Many abandoned vehicles on the road out of Athens
We were here for about an hour, it was dull
Really dull
I think I liked the flags, who knows? Not me, maybe Zeus. His club was pretty close.
looking back on it this was both safe and nice.
This wasn't, this was dangerous and scary
That white stuff is road, our snow chains turned the whole bus into a vibrator whilst giving minimal grip.
the snow chains broke in the end leading to a whole new set of slidy fun
Visibility zero, snow shitloads, ice plenty, grip none, angry greeks? About a dozen
I remained calm along with my bus pal.
My bus pal Apostolos, great bloke he translated arguements, announcements and all sorts. Cheers man, you were one top, top fella. He told me we made the national news. The rolling bit at the bottom said something like “Crimally insane suicidal nutters driving to delphi in that very bus” A woman got to wave at her mates. Millions of greeks saw me in my hat. 60% fell instantly in love.
5 hours in, we were about 30 minutes out of Athens (in normal conditions) driving into fuck knows what in the mountains. If I look crappy in this you should have seen me when Janny met me.
Top, top man number 2 Janny (sp?) my hotel wailed on my reservation at 00:30 in -10 this man gives me a room on the cheap and one metric shitload of whiskey and woke me up in the morning. Legend, your name will live long!
We played chess (he won, sober fucker)
My morning view from my hotel balcony in Delphi, I nearly cried I was so happy. Best shit idea ever going there.
Love all the mountains!
Pig in shit happy I was.
Just chuffed to bits. :)
Non snowy lovely, lovely road! Oh and big rock.
[grins]
I will go back and walk here one day
Here to
I was walking here
Hey Apollo, Zeus had a bigger house but you win hands down on location
[more grinning]
Here kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty, etc...
I made a fuss of this little kitty
Pillar series 2, have you seen my work on pylons? Fascinating.
Now available with sun
[still grinning]
[grinning at truely inane levels]
Hard to put this place into words, needless to say I liked it a little.
Still not a whiff of a show or a new joke...
Pillars and gubbins
These trees are not buried, bear this in mind
Ye oldy stadium.
With dog houses.
Highest point you could go in the Dephi site, I was slightly disappointed at that but was running low on time anyhoo
Christ I am tired now.
Chirpy McChirp of the clan Dead Chirpy
So chipy I became a mong
Is this even a pillar? Maybe a monolith...
The poor bloke who took this looked quite nervous. I could not for the life of me stand still!
Apollo's garage.
Kitty feedin' time!
God thing, they are everywhere. Miles from civilisation they place these.
Flags!
I like this, sadly no tat shops had a mini version
A cloud! I shit meself a prepared for another 7.5 hour journey back to Athens
Shiney nice mountains
Feet upon feet of snow!
Look at the trees! We were driving in that as it fell! Greeks = mad, loony, insane. They cleaned it up in mega quick time though.
Snow everywhere, apart from on the road. Which was a welcome change, in case you think I haven't bitched enough rest assured enough bitching is not in any way possible without involving the medium of dance.
Tree's! There were buried trees, not mini trees, proper big actual trees, buried.
Athens for the most part is ugly as sin, then something like this is stumbled upon. Woo!
With orange tree and elbow.
Note the very excellent restaurant. Also note that walking on ice covered marble presents a challenge. Re: food. The rule is nice, welcoming people the food is shit. Rude arrogant arseholes who treat you like shit for having the nerve to walk into the place and it's fricking wonderful.
