2011 05 07 Getting There is Not Half the Fun
Getting up at a disgustingly early hour, having our bags destroyed at security, screaming kids kicking the back of our chair for hours on end, the decline of the Kauai economy in these hard times, the failure of the United States aircraft industry to generate acceptable transporter technology and jet lag all conspired to make it a tiring start to the trip. But it's Kauai. West Virginia has a poor claim on "Almost Heaven" next to Kauai.
