The revolt of 1857. The canvas is alive with a scene of the revolt where two people have been focused...the oppressor and the oppressed....the contrasts in their situations!
The prime focus of this painting is a man who believes in his cause and is ready to do anything for it.
This is one of the simplest paintings over there though the detailing was done well and it depicts the social conditions of the time.
The revolters' were put behind bars and new laws were enacted in the name of Justice, which favoured the rulers.
