In celebration of our second anniversary, we spent the weekend playing in the mountains. First to Leadville for the Heavy Half Marathon up mosquito pass (for Adam) and to bike the Copper Triangle (for Sarah); then to Copper and Breck the next day...a beautiful summer weekend in the Rockies!

Roadtrip to Pinetop

Road trip from Boulder through Durango to Pinetop, AZ for Ryan and Heather's wedding. Return through the Petrified Forest, Painted Desert, Four Corners, Durango, Silverton, Ouray... The largest forest fire in Arizona history began right before our trip (not far from the wedding site) and the smoke followed us home making the skies in southwest Colorado uncharacteristically hazy.

Tennessee Pass Winter Triathlon

A sunny morning greeted competitors at Pedal Power bike shop's Second Annual Winter Triathlon held at the Tennessee Pass Nordic Center (10,424 feet) at Ski Cooper. After a lung burning 5k snowshoe, 10k snow bike, and 8k skate ski, Adam snapped a few photos of the staging area and surrounding scenery.

Great Sand Dunes

On our way back to Boulder from Albuquerque, Sarah and I made a few fun stops. We arrived at the Sand Dunes on Sunday evening for a short hike. We drove on to Buena Vista and camped at 10,000 feet near the Colorado Trail, which we hiked part of the next morning with Mount Yale in the background.
