Car Platform Construction
Before leaving for a climbing road trip, I decided to install a sleeping platform in the back of my car. Since the car is a station wagon and not too tall, I decided not to raise it, but rather just removed the rear seats and cut the platform to fit. I stained and urethaned the platform, covered the edges in plumbing insulation, and added a couple of layers of carpet padding and carpet to create a comfortable sleeping surface. Hopefully it works well.
