The 2010 Peggy Sue's (http://www.peggysues-maui.com) car show took place on Sunday, September 26th, it's probably the best of a number of annual shows put together by the Maui Classic Cruisers club. This mid '50s Chevy pickup was new to me, and it was one of my Top 5 faves at this year's event.
One clean machine!
The motor in an otherwise unexceptional VW Karmann Ghia.
The lone Ferrari at this year's show was this 430 Scuderia, powered by a 503 horsepower V8. Not sure of what year this car is, but the first year of production was 2008. The price tag (new) was in excess of $272K for a US model. This bear gets to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds!
This is the view most folks will have of this car!
503 horses reside here!
Love dem prancin' horses!
A well detailed 'Vette Z06...
Despite having two more horsepower than the Ferrari 430, I doubt if this 'Vette can be much of a threat to the Scuderia!
A very clean '57 'Vette, one of my all-time favorites.
The 270 HP, 283 CID motor in the '57 'Vette from the previous page...
The power plant in a stock '31 Ford Model A.
'57 with a bullet...
Roy & Edie Bonilla's '65 Goat is especially nice!
I've been a fan of this blown Chevy powered Willys ever since I first saw it. Nice!
There was a hip hop exercise group doing its thing to entertain the crowd...
Apparently the owner of this truck does know Jack!
I especially liked this '66 Chevy II Nova SS, really well done!
A nicely done big bucks Brizio Deuce roadster...
Friend Betsy was visiting from Las Vegas where she works as a "shoe wrangler" for one of the Cirque du Soleil shows.
Betsy obviously has a thing for trucks!
Old friend Forest was visiting Maui with his gal pal, Betsy.
Another "new to me" car was this well done candy tangerine '40 Ford Deluxe coupe. Nice!
The good wife waits patiently for her compulsive gear-head photographer husband to finish doing his thing...
Wayne Simmons had his classic Model A hot rod on display. Wayne crashed this car at 90 MPH+ at the local drag strip earlier this year, so I was especially pleased to see it here.
I've never known how much actual damage was done to Wayne's hot rod in that crash, but the left and right corners of the car are somewhat altered from the way the were a year ago.
Ouch!
I'm a sucker for 3-window Deuce coupes, and this one was near perfect in my book!
Another fave of mine from the show was this Chevy powered A model Ford 5-window coupe.
Zat's nice!
Great stance!
Not a lot of bikes at this year's show, but this 1950 Indian was a real gem!
This '41 Ford Woody is a delight to behold! (It, like me, will turn '70 next year! lol)
The `uala is a Hawaiian sweet potato, first brought to the Hawaiian Islands by the original Polynesian settlers some 900+ years ago.
El came back from Star Heaven to entertain the folks once again.
Kolleen met Elvis in Hollywood back in '68. They had a nice time getting caught up on what's been going on for the 42 years since then!
You ain't nothin' but a...
An Elvis okole shot...
I'm not all that fond of Mustangs, but this Shelby variant was quite nice...
Pal Dave Hultquist's Hemi Challenger
Kol Kol, Betsy and Forest, jonesing to go eat sushi! LAST PICTURE IN ALBUM, THANKS FOR LOOKING!
