I'm not all that much a fan of FoMoCo cars, but this vintage Mustang is really quite nice!
A rainy Waikapu Valley in the distance...
The ever-patient Alan Engholm.
Dave Hultquist, in his Hemi Challenger, smokes the tires on his first qualifying pass. It only got worse as the run progressed! (See next picture...)
This was about 60-feet off the starting line...
Rare to see a Porsche at the drags, especially a relatively "funky" older one...
An interesting light tower...rust never sleeps!
I'd never shot from anywhere near the finish line before, so my efforts were not all too successful. I guess the learning curve is more difficult than I imagined since more than half the shots I got from there were junk!
Funny what one might see "out in the tullies!"
Oops - the key fell out..or something like that.
The far, far end...

A study in contrasts...
The go-kart guys have a nice deal here...
Uh, the dirt oval ain't happening!
Leaking racing gas postpones a qualifying pass..
"Well, at least they let me use the chair."
That Takushi bunch knows how to have a good time!
Rain threatened all day, but aside from a few sprinkles that put things on hold temporarily, the event was completed pretty much on time...
Pal Randy Chapman's 5.0 'stang...
Mr. M. Hultquist

A little sideways action on the burnout...
Hi Robert!
If I'd been using Mr. Miskae's 17-55mm f/2.8 Nikkor lens again, this shot would have been super sharp!
Mark and Alan discussing the meaning of life.
Mr. D. Hultquist
Mr. Silva
Alan turns on the red light, and fouls out!
Mark Caires' least favorite track activity...
Alan again with a big SEG!
"Yeah, good point, Irene, but I really do prefer ahi sushi!"
One thing about drag racing, you can never tell what'll show up on any given day!
Oops! This 14-second Honda ended up like this after its burnout. (Better it broke then, than somewhere down the track!)
It was a real struggle to get this car on the "tow truck," but Jamie Texeira's efforts paid off.
