Teen Challenge 2009! Group photo in downtown Boston
On our way to our first adventure in Reading, MA.
...with our awesome chaperones.
Our first adventure: learning trapeze!
The harness keeps you safe.
This was one of the professional acrobats who would be catching us.
Hmm... we are thinking about this...
One of our brave teens, ready to try!
Woohoo!
Rolling out of the net is definitely one of the fun parts.
Another brave trapezist!
And another!
And another good net dismount.
Ready when you are!
I did it!!!
Excellent dismount!
Yours too!
So, we're going to do the whole "catching" thing, yes?
OK, here we go!
Woooohooooo!!!
Thank you to our great trapeze instructors at TSNY Beantown. That was challenging but exciting and fun!
Oh, and in case you were wondering, the trapeze school is in a huge Jordan's Furniture store, which is also home to a 40-foot tall icecream sundae made of jellybeans. For real!
...and a Liquid Fireworks show!
It was a great day.
Fun indeed.
Our next adventure was a cooking lesson in a professional kitchen, followed by a cooking contest!
We learned some useful and safe kitchen techniques...
...and we practiced them.
We learned to make dough...
...and salad.
The really cool industrial stove was popular.
Now we're cooking!
We prepared dishes for the judges, and also tried them ourselves.
Our panel of judges!
Presenting one of our creations to the judges.
...contemplating the dishes.
Discussion with the chefs.
Another team explains their dishes to the judges.
Beautifully presented.
Dr. Levy joins the judges panel!
Another team of chefs...
...making their presentation.
Beautiful arrangement!
Looks great!
Awaiting the judges' comments...
Taste testing.
Conferring and tallying up the scores.
All in all, it was a great Teen Challenge!
Great to spend time with friends.
In the beautiful city of Boston.
Finally it was time for our groups' farewell.
Thank you for a wonderful Teen Challenge 2009!!
