Skiddaw via Lonscale Fell
I met up with Andrew Leaney and David Hall in Keswick on a cold January morning. Our route was Spooney Green Lane, Gale Road, Whit Beck, Lonscale Fell, Jenkin Hill, Skiddaw Lesser Man, Skiddaw Little Man, Skiddaw, Bakestall, Birkett Edge, Cumbria Way, Skiddaw House, Lonscale Crags, Whit Beck, Gale Road, Latrigg and Spooney Green Lane. We walked 14 miles and ascended 4,150 feet. The day was cold and frosty at first with cloud on the high fells and sunny blue sky on the way back from Skiddaw House. It was a very enjoyable walk but a tiring one.
