Boot Camp BBQ and Community Audit Actions June 24, 25 2011
On the 24th, we held day-long direct action training at a park in Salt Lake City. About 50 people endured the heat for 8 hours of interactive workshops before we started cooking! Reverend Billy from the Church of Earthalujia! came by, but our sound system fell through. Turns out The Self Express, a vegetable oil bus from Oregon that came to Utah for Tim's sentencing, had amplifiers! The Reverend worked his upbeat magic, and we ended the day singing some of our standard (and favorite) songs -- with the man who wrote them! (Brian Cahall went through the whole workshop--and the Community Audit with us.) It was an incredible couple of days!
