Behind the scene
VBS program with the help of 3rd Denver the 9th -12th of July, 2007
The first morning we had the opening inside, with more people standing in the doorways and outside the windows.
Teachers from the mother church, Cristo Arca de Salvacion worked with summer missions volunteers and a Seminary intern and his wife.
The first day 158 kids came, in all 268 kids and adults participated in the VBS
The registration table was a busy place.
The kids learned many treasures from the Bible.
After the first day, we had the opening and closing outside under a tarp.
Melissa, Karissa, the SMP team, and youth from local churches presented a puppet show each day that went along with the lesson.
Seminary intern Christina Ludema, and SMP'rs Laura VanderPloeg and Sara Orellana helping with the songs.
Gladys DeRidder, the singing lady!
What would VBS be without fun crafts?
And a good breakfast?
And a jumping castle?
The youth from Denver bring the castle, the biggest announcememt we could have!
Jumping rope
Everyone LOVED VBS!!!
During VBS we started a class for the mothers who were there each morning. After VBS several wanted to continue learning more so we began a Monday morning Bible study. Six women completed the first book. The day of this photo it was 113 degrees, and with no electricity, so there was not even a fan!
This is a graduation picture, we had a party (complete with good food) when the ladies completed their second study.
Diamandy, from the Prince of Peace church is helping out with the kids during the Monday morning Bible study.
Maximina and her mother Guillermina two women in Ojo de Agua who are receiving a home Bible Study
Another family receiveng a home Bible study. The summer interns and SMP team canvassed the community offering studies.
We have our main Bible Study/Worship service on Wednesday night. Scott, Dave Crum, and Israel Ponce take turns by month leading the study. The last Wednesday of each month we project an evangelistic movie.
Several ladies and youth also take turns giving a class to the children who attend Wednesday night.
