Rebreather Demo, February 2012

February 25 saw the staff of Oceanic Ventures and Silent Diving Systems hosting a Rebreather Demonstration of the Evolution and Inspriation Rebreathers in Austin, Texas. Despite the cold weather and the "heated" pool (well it was at about 70 degrees), we had a great turn out and the divers had a wonderful experience. Instructor Evaluation Seminar - February 2012

Oceanic Ventures hosted a Scuba Schools International Instructor Evaluation Seminar in Houston, Texas. Instructor Certifier, Ann Keibler, and a group of other instructors and trainers (Eric Keibler, Vernon Dittrich, Andrew Pikoff, Dave Snyder, and Wade Sparks) worked to certify a group of Instructor Candidates. We are pleased to announce that David Morris, Ed Walsh and Alex Witschey passed the test and are now new Open Water Instructors with Scuba Schools International.

Club Aquarius February 2012

The Oceanic Ventures February Club Aquarius Meeting featured a Scotch Tasting presented by Andrew Hyman from Whyte & Mackay. The group sampled six scotches, three from the Dalmore and three from Jura. The Royal Oak Bar and Grill and Glaziers Representative, David Morris, hosted the event. DUI Demo Days in Terrell, Texas

We should never send the boys with a camera. They came back with too few images from Duving Unlimited International's DOG Rally and Demo Days in Terrell, Texas. Ashton, Dave, Brittan and Alex were all on hand for the fun.

Truk Lagoon

Oceanic Ventures ran 2 trips to Truk Lagoon in Chuuk FSM in August 2009. The first week was a Technical charter visiting the deep seldom dove wrecks in the lagoon and the second week was a Recreational/Technical charter visiting a good cross section of the wrecks in the lagoon. This was their sixth trip to Truk Lagoon. All of their trips have featured technical diving and more recently rebreather diving. They are planning on returning in 2012 with a Technical Deep Wreck Charter in February 2012 and a Recreational charter in July 2012. Both trips are rebreather friendly.
