All Roads Lead to Rome

This group of photos was taken in Rome, when Darcie and I spent a few days there before her departure. We were being tourists, and saw the tourist things. Here you can see the Piazza Venezia, the Colosseum with the ruins nearby, the Pantheon, and the Vatican City.

Surrounding Ronciglione

A glimpse into my Italian life. During three hour hike through a haunted wood, we explored the ancient Etruscan caves that are scattered about the area. Owner and head barrista of Caffe Nuovo, Roberto, sees me on a daily basis. A few flicks of Filippo's house, Torre del Falco, with a shot of my work area—next to the fire. And finally, I was visited by a great friend—and proprietor of Beagle Productions in Saskatoon—Dale Friesen. With only 48 hours of time with him, I had a chance to show him the restaurant I will be interning at for a few weeks in April under the owner, Paolo. Le Cime is situated at the top of a nearby mountain, and boasts some of the finest dishes I've had. A local treasure.

Northwestern Italy

This album shows Darcie and I arriving in Italy at the Cinque Terre, our first rainy destination since Ireland. Though beautiful, we searched out better weather in Pisa, where we saw the infamous tower, which is surrounded by other significant, less crooked buildings. Before heading off to the WWOOF farm at Villa Lina near Rome, we stopped by Florence for a quick view, a place I shall see again. The pictures near the end are of the farm and it's surrounding medieval town, Ronciglione.

Southern France

These photos begin in Marseille where we were invited into Emmanuel and Amol's apartment for two nights. They then took us to Cassis and Amol showed us around (he's pictured on the rock). We spent two nights camping on the beach in Cassis for my birthday where we ate the best crepes I have ever had. We were then off to St. Raphael where we were invited into Fred's house for two nights after camping for two. Day one with Fred was spent in Nice as he worked. We toured the chateau and chilled on the coast. Fred and some photos of his house are found at the end.

Two Weeks in England

Clockwise Tour of Ireland

Arrival in Dublin, and a clockwise tour of Ireland including Kilkenny, Tramore, Waterford, Cork, Kilarney, the Ring of Kerry, Galway, and the Cliffs of Moher. 2 weeks of Guinness, in it's mother land...blissful.

Moving South in Spain

This album begins with our stay in Barcelona, where we got a chance to see the Makabre protest, the Olympic park, and do some climbing. After Barcelona, we headed to a WWOOFing farm near Valencia to pick olives and almonds. Following that we were back in Valencia, then to Granada where we saw the Alhambra and stayed a stones throw from the Gypsy area, the Albaicin.
