Donatella and Laura on the train to Beaune.
Train ride activity: figuring out what to actually do at our destination.
Market day! Lucky us!
Moooooooommmmmmm, look at the flowersss...
Pastry break...
Our tour guide. Did not disappoint. He wore a black turtleneck under a sport coat. If I were a costume designer I couldn't think of a better sommelier-ish wardrobe.
Wine cellar - Bouchard.
Wine tasting! Took us on a tour of their cellars and a tour through our "senses" as related to wine.
For "sound" they periodically played this weird music in the background that sounded like when you run a wet finger around a wine glass.
The "smell" room... all the different "bouquets" of wine.
"Touch." Wine can apparently feel like velvet, vinyl or fur in your mouth. The more you know.
Poster that was in the "sight" room. I definitely can't pick out tastes and smells and things in wine but colors are doable.
"Taste!"
The wines we tasted.
Owner's private collection. Including just a couple bottles from 1911, no big.
Natalie and wine purchases.
Beaune's Notre Dame. Pretty decent.
I liked the use of one accent color.
Hotel Dieu
Me and Donatella... we live under one roof and here's a picture of us with a really pretty roof.
Used to be a hospital
The pharmacy! Took this pic for Mar... not even sure if she looks here, pass it on for me, Neupe?
Donatella + tapestries = love
Dining on our market spoils! Cheese + bread + sausage + wine = France
