Towson, MD (November 4, 2009) - Baltimore County Executive Jim Smith announced today that he will introduce legislation on November 16 that would require all rental dwellings in Baltimore County to have carbon monoxide detectors within the next 12 months. Once the legislation is introduced, the Baltimore County Council will discuss the bill at its regularly scheduled work session on December 15 and consider the legislation for final vote on December 21. According to statistics provided by the Fire Department, Baltimore County is projected to have more than 1,400 carbon monoxide incidents in 2009.
