Sandyketton. 07.05.09. The remains of the Great Yeldham oak, and its replacement. The old oak is shown on a map dated 1777 and is reputed to be over 300 years old. It was patched up with bits of mortar mix and bound together in 1949.

Brisey 7th May. An aircraft departing from Heathrow. We should be on one tonight, departing for 2 weeks in the Greek sunshine. Unfortunately my father is ill and we are unable to go and have had to cancel our holiday.
08/05/09 - wildman - the cyclomen have finally finished flowering, but the flowers are confused, this Christmas Cactus flowered in December and again now along with the summer flowering one on the right.

Brisey 11th May. A specially built aggregate barge making its way along the Grand Union Canal. If it looks half empty, it's because it is. If they put in anymore aggregate the thing will sink. Another triumph for British design.!!

29th May - PenelopePitstop - My roses are fully open now - don't think they'll last very long!
30/05/09 - Wildman - November sown broad beans on the left and march sown on the right with onions and a few stray spuds between both carrry flowers. Note the plastic coke bottles keeping the slugs out. I now use them around all new sown plants and it works quite well. A few slug pellets inside takes care of any existing slugs and the birds cannot get to them. Good result.
