Posing for our first picture as we boarded the ship on Sunday, 2-10-08
Tourist?? (How can you tell)
Enjoying the view from the deck of the ship.
Our room ... notice the balcony! Awesome!
We even have a sofa
We are now on our way!
View from the bearth as we ease out of San Diego
A little tug boat in the center
Leaving the harbor
Self Portrait as we sit on our balcony!
Last view of land on Sunday evening as we sail into the sunset
Back of ship leaving a sea trail behind us
Looks like a whale's fin
Top deck being used by joggers
Lower deck being enjoyed by sunbathers
Starboard side (right side) of ship
Standing on the very windy edge
Directly below us is water
The bow, or front of the ship, has it's own spa
Starboard side with our room just above the life boats.
What a view!
Having fun exploring all of the ship's levels
Of course, the ice carving demonstration. Ended up being a model of the ship
How about a "Hairy Chest Contest" ...
How cute! Monday evening Miss Piggy was holding our shore excursion tickets we purchased by way of our room TV.
Along with our cute towel animal, was our bed turned down with the next day's itinerary and 2 mints (a nightly ritual)
How about a little miniature golf? The outside was another jogging track.
Behind us was a basketball court. Lots of fun, but a little windy
No winners; just a lot of fun
Looking down at one of the many pools
Tuesday, Mr. Bunny was our newest towel animal
Got to see his back side, too
A bright moon shining outside our balcony
After two days at sea, someone shouted "Land Hoe" and we all came running ... it's Acapulco!! Wednesday, 2-13-08
Many tall buildings to welcome us
Cruising in to dock
Looking towards the stern, or back of the ship
This view is the bow, or front
What a fun welcome as we disembark the ship!
On our City Tour of Acapulco, we saw the Cliff Divers
Climbing straight up the rocks to the top platform
The stone alter on top is where the divers kneel to pray before each jump
One diver on top and one on the rocks just below, and one taking a flying leap!
Doing a flip in the air as he dives
A perfect landing in the water below
Three more divers on the rocks getting ready to jump
Top diver on his way down
Now, two at once ...
Off they go ~
A view of Senior Frog's
Our picture taken to 'capture' the Mother of Pearl shell where the beautiful pink stones are taken from to create the Kabana jewelry. "My Sweetheart" surprised me with an Anniversary ring along with the matching bracelet and necklace.
Gary getting ready to experience the AquaMassage ~ right in the middle of the Mall
Nice, comfy, and all ready for his "20 minutes" of Heaven!
The machine has water jets pulsating the entire body (he is covered with plastic, not actually getting wet)
Wednesday, Mr. Frogg greeted us that evening
Sailing into Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa on Thursday, Valentine's Day & our Anniversary, 2-14-08
Enjoying the hillside homes
The lifeboats took is to shore
A view of our ship during the City Tour
A nice picture of us and our ship
Gary's first view of Ixtapa
First, a stop to see the local crocodiles
Big ones just hanging out
Some want to show off their teeth ...
... or just rest their head on a log. The deck was the height we were at taking the pictures
See Gary's shadow? He is TOUCHING the crock!!! How brave is that!
Showing off the back molars
Notice how huge his head is
Chillin' in the shade
Finally, Gary is at the beach in Ixtapa. Parasailers also enjoying the beautiful weather
Ready to head for the water
He made it! Got his feet wet ...
... and enough to wet his shorts, also
Not enough time. Have to come back someday
Another view of our ship as we walked back to hitch a ride back
Lifeboats coming bringing people back to the ship
"Empty" lifeboat hangers, directly below our balcony
A great view of the lifeboat & local speedboats along the harbor
This is a fishing village with many boats
Beautiful buldings along the hillside
Another view of how close they are to the edge of the cliff
Notice the interesting roofs the houses have
Well, we made it to Valentine's Day, our 22nd Anniversary, and we are having a GREAT time!
Mary Jo and "Butch", our dinner companions. All the ladies were given red carnations on Valentine's Day.
Miss Goosie greeted us on Thursday.
Look at what details went into making her!
This morning, Friday, 2-15-08, we woke up to railway cars in our dock at Manzanillo.
It was facinating watching them transport the cars away
As we look to the back of the ship, we see another working crane move the cars from the barges to the trucks.
A closer view
As we drove into town on the bus, we see an adorable tug boat plant!
A blue sail fish greets us as we enter the town.
Way off in the distance, between the two trees, is a view of our ship.
Zooming in on our cruise ship, the Carnival Spirit.
How cute! Friday night, Mr. Elephant (Snuffleupagus) was waiting for us.
Isn't he awesome!
Saturday, 2-16-08, our last formal evening on the ship. After dinner, we watched a variety show.
Saturday evening, we return to our room to find Mr. Monkey swinging in our rafters!
Such a cutie!
Our very last surprise was a Mommy and baby walrus waiting for us on Sunday.
