"A place of beauty and healing. The original intent was to heal the rift between the Doukhobor and Sinixt cultures on this very location. Not lost to the intent is the history and memory of the Japanese internment camps that sprung up in the Kootenay region. Also the many other First nation tribes that travelled and settled in the area have come forward, as did the Sinixt after the government declared them 'extinct'. Culture and history brought alive in the MIr Center for Peace."

"Curved Wall is to be used to feature Fiber Art of local artisans and is a grass wall paper to emphasize texture and nature. My design used plants to deliniate spaces both here between the lounge and upstairs. The committee was not able to agree on this point due to the amount of use the space may or may not get. Thus plant maintenance was an issue. From all reports the space is booked non stop and plants are now used to bring nature indoors and deliniate spaces as per the original design."
