The first games of season 2012 and it was off to 'Ocean Park', home of the Shamrocks. The Mallee Bulls were short on numbers and had plenty of new players but overall all three grades acquitted themselves well for a first outing. The Firsts went close losing 17 to 14 in a very gutsy effort. Then it was back to our new home, the Tennis Club for a most enjoyable evening.

Gutsy 2011 semi-final performance

11 September saw the 1sts tackle Tech Tahs in the minor semi-final at Camden Rugby Park. As president Glenn McGuinness noted, "We played Tech Tahs and were on the wrong end of the stick losing 24 - 22. Close but not quite there. We did suffer a number of player losses in the last weeks of the comp, especially in the backs and we found it difficult to fill in the gaps. It was a good effort in the end after we beat Shamrocks in the elimination semi the previous week."

50th Year Reunion V Kiama

The University of Wollongong Rugby Union celebrated its 50th Year. The weekend event started with an informal get together at the North Wollongong Hotel on Friday night, followed by game day at home V Kiama. Then the Reunion Dinner that evening.

Downing Vikings

Under lights on our own turf, the Mallee Bulls fought their way to a gutsy win over 2010 premiers Vikings. Balmy autumn weather and the promise of good tucker and some drinks drew a great crowd and the 'canteen' was kept flat out all night.

2011 AGM

The Mallee Bulls' 2011 annual general meeting took place, before training, on the lower University field. All those nominated office bearers were elected unopposed.
