New cat sculpture outside the Peace Palace library by Henk Visch. "Henk Visch believes that the Cat is a universal image, very recognizable for everyone. The Cat is officially named ‘The Witness’, the reason being that it can hear anything and see in the dark. The Cat has its eyes closed, “as all the wisdom is inside the cat, ready to be delivered”."
The Japanese Room in the Peace Palace- donated by Japan. Tapestries on the walls, Ming Vases in the corners.
Each chair in the Japanese Room is embroidered with the coat of arms of a member state
Dane & Mel in the Japanese Room- the peacock on the tapestry behind is embroidered with gold silk. Dane works at the PCA in the Peace Palace so gave Steve, Bjoern & me a private guided tour :)
