Larry Smith's plate. Because I have a twin brother, naturally I am interested in twins. I have had a number of sets over the years. Looking through my photo files I have found a few photos that I have posted. I will keep looking for more sets. If you and your twin attended JV School please send me electronic copies of your photos. jvsmith@clearwire.net

Twins Lucas and Pauline Goosens Raised in Jacksonville, Oregon by French speaking parents. "My French accent has actually been more influenced by the American culture, and when I went to Belgium for a year that also influenced it a bit. I only knew the French my parents knew, which was actually a very proper Parisien French."

Lucas and Pauline
Bruno, Pauline, Gisele, Lucas Goossens Article - July 04, 1997 Bruno Goossens was one of the top junior fencers in France in the 1960s,and he has been ranked in the top 10 in the United States as recently as three years ago. At 51 years old, you would think the retired doctor would be losing someof his competitive edge. But Goossens proved that age is only a number during last week's StateGames of Oregon. The Jacksonville resident won the gold medal in the opendivision of epee, one of fencing's three events. He also took a silver inthe 40-and-over division.

Lucas Goosens - center Future international model Looks like his twin sister, Pauline, is on the left.
As Lucas grew, people often mentioned to him, because of his good looks, that he should become a model. When I worked at Goodbean a lot of customers would always tell me I should be a model, and when I came back from Belgium I decided it was time for me to start, so I went to a small agency in Medford, signed up, and went to Western Washington University for one term. In January I went to a modeling competition in L.A. and did very well, so I figured I should go full throttle ahead, school can always wait. Modeling is a chance that not many people get to have, and it allows me to do what I love: travel, and meet new people and new ways of life. So I stopped school and moved to Miami for 3 months to model (it went pretty well) and now I'm living in NYC with a very good agency, and things are going well here as well.
2011 - Lucas appearing in a swimwear spread for Women's Wear Daily. Lucas was a champion swimmer at South Medford High. January 17, 2009 The South Medford boys swim team beat North Medford. The Panther boys won nine of 11 events and broke three school records. The 200-yard medley relay team of Aaron Ghiglieri, Lucas Goossens, Clark Snyder and Ryken Robbins broke the previous school record. The same group broke a year-old school record in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:32.05. 200 MEDLEY RELAY — 1, South Medford (Aaron Ghiglieri, Lucas Goossens, Clark Snyder, Ryken Robbins), 200 INDIVIDUAL MEDLEY — 1, Clark Snyder, SM, 2:06.88; 2, Ko Suzuki, NM, 2:14.24; 3, Lucas Goossens, SM, 2:22.28. 200 FREESTYLE RELAY — 1, South Medford (Lucas Goossens, Aaron Ghiglieri, Ryken Robbins, Clark Snyder) 100 BREASTSTROKE — 1, Kyle Wehage, NM, 1:06.59; 2, Aaron Ghiglieri, SM, 1:08.27; 3, Lucas Goossens, SM, 1:09.53

February 13, 2009 Two area fencers will compete against the nation's best this weekend. South Medford senior Lucas Goossens and Ashland junior Sulaiman Shelton are among nearly 200 fencers from across the country who will put their skills on display at the Junior Olympic Championships in Albuquerque, NM. Goossens is in the epee junior division. Goossens is part of the epee junior division (ages 20 and under) Lucas is part of the Southern Oregon Fencing Center. Goossens earned a berth in the Junior Olympic Championships by winning the epee competition at the Oregon Division Junior Olympic Qualifier. "They are great kids," says Steve Wesche of the Southern Oregon Fencing Center. "They are sharp." Both come from strong fencing families. Goossens' father, Bruno, won the World Masters Championships in 1998 and a handful of other major tournaments. He's been an international referee and an instructor in the sport. Bruno introduced Lucas to fencing when Lucas was about 7 years old.

Twins Brian and Brian Mayfield Susan Krebs Mr. Smith...thank you so much for all the wonderful pictures. Funny how it just seems like yesterday, where does time go? The world needs more teachers like you. My twin brother, Larry Smith, has been teaching school since 1965...almost 45 years. He is still subbing. Over those years he took photos of his students and their activities. Many of these photos were taken by his students. He has now scanned in the negatives, photos and slides from those years. He has organized the 6,460 photos into 27 Picasa albums. He hopes his former students will find these albums after he posts them on http://www.jvwoodlands.orgTo contact Larry Smith: jvsmith@clearwire.netTo contact Lloyd Smith: Lsmithtwin@comcast.net
